New White Stripes album in the works

Despite the fact that Jack White is about to kickstart the promo train for his new band The Dead Weather, he hasn’t forgotten about this roots. In an interview with CBC he confirmed that there will be a seventh White Stripes album at some point. The duo of Jack and Meg White have been inactive since summer 2007 after Meg was taken ill with an anxiety illness, causing the band to cancel both the remaining dates of their US tour and European tour. He didn’t mention anything else about it but I think given that Brendan Benson, fellow Raconteur, is about to tour a solo album, I imagine that he’ll turn his attentions to White Stripes material after his Dead Weather tour wraps up at the end of the summer.
